The Senior Games are open to anyone who will be 50 years old by December 31st of the year of competition. Athletes are required to submit proof of age when registering for the games. The Acadiana Games is an open event, so out-of-state and out of area residents are eligible and encouraged to participate. The games are usually held in April of each year. Entry forms become available in the latter part of January each year.
Senior Games have proven to be very popular with older citizens and is instrumental in keeping our "Seniors" active and provides them with opportunities for camaraderie.

The Acadiana District is a qualifying event for the Louisiana State Games. Athletes must qualify on both the state and district levels to qualify for the National Senior Games.

The Acadiana District Senior Games rely solely on sponsorships, donations and volunteers. Our future is looking brighter as we are working on plans of having the games in one centralized park. This will make it easier on the athletes, sponsors and volunteers who help make all of this happen.

The Acadiana District Senior Games offer various activities. You do not have to be an athlete to join in! There are many activities that range from recreational to strenuous physical ability.
