Acadian Heritage Apartments is a HUD 202 PRAC, with rental subsidy; designed for independent senior citizens, 62 years of age or older with very low income. Each of the 87-units in the complex is ground level with one bedroom and one adaptable bath. The main attraction of this facility is the design, which is adapted to meet the needs of senior citizens with: grab bars in bathrooms, one bedroom with large closets, a stove and refrigerator.

 

This beautiful property is accentuated with well-maintained grounds, lush flower beds, three wonderful air conditioned laundry rooms, a computer lab, exercise room, library, puzzle room and beauty salon. Two large gazebos in the courtyard are perfect for gatherings.

 

The Community Room is located in the East Wing of the Big House and has the following activities: (Mondays and Fridays) resident bingo, (Tuesdays and Thursdays) chair exercises and bible study and (Thursdays) rosary. Every 2nd Tuesday we have a bus trip to Wal-Mart. Every 3rd Tuesday we have a bus trip to a restaurant of the tenant’s choice. The last Wednesday of the month we have a birthday celebration for all tenants whose birthdays are in that month. If you are age 62 or older, it’s time to have some fun!!!!!

 

This property also serves as a meal site where assesed seniors in the Scott area may come in Monday through Friday to receive a freshly prepared, well balanced meal at 11:00 AM. This is a tremendous opportunity for socializing.
